Dear Highland Park Families and Community Members,

Graduation is a time of celebration, high hopes, and lasting memories, all of which can lead to big expectations for graduation night. This is particularly true for the class of 2022 who spent so much of their high school time online during the pandemic.

Since 1991, families of the HPHS graduating class have provided the seniors with a tobacco-, alcohol-, and drug-free celebration on graduation night, known as Project Graduation. Project Graduation is an all-night event that’s about keeping our kids safe while ensuring a fun and memorable time. It will be the only event besides prom and the graduation ceremony when this class of 2022 can celebrate their accomplishments together!

A traditional Project Graduation for the class of 2022 is scheduled to be held on Monday, June 20, 2022 (the night of graduation) at the Woodbridge Community Center. Here, students will enjoy activities ranging from swimming to roller skating to games to yearbook signing, and more! Buses will provide transportation for ALL students to and from the high school.

The entire class of graduating seniors can participate FREE OF CHARGE because parent-led fundraising covers all expenses!  Through the generosity of parents, community members, and many local businesses, Highland Park has been able to offer Project Graduation for the past 30 years.

In past years we were able to fund this event through in person fundraising events, such as the popular Night at the Races.  Because of COVID-19 concerns, this event is not possible this year, which is why we need your help to keep this special tradition going! Our goal is to raise $10,000.

Please consider making a donation of any size to help support Project Graduation—no amount is too little or too much! Contributions can come from grandparents, family, friends, or your business. Donations of at least $25 will get a set of 4 notecards featuring artwork by members of the senior class (while supplies last).

Many of us have older graduates, so we know how much this event means to the kids and what a special time it is.  You can make a real difference with your donation.

We thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

The 2022 Project Graduation Committee

(Update: May 05.10.2022. We have distributed all notecards. Thank you for your kind support!)
